A/C Condenser Replacement STEPS This guide requires the following supplies: Refrigerant oil Safety Tip: Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes. 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable. Photo may not be specific to your vehicle 2 Locate your A/C condenser. 3 Inspect the condenser for cracks that can lead to leaking. 4 Recover the refrigerant (Discharge the AC system). This will need to be done with a recovery machine. If the Freon has already leaked out you will not need to do this. 5 Remove any grilles, supports, lock braces to gain access to the condenser. 6 Remove the condenser's refrigerant lines.
