Nissan Frontier Third Brake Light Will Not Turn OFF

Third Brake Light Will Not Turn OFF The red light on the back cab wont go out, after I exit the truck. First, the red light on the back of your cab is the third brake light. Are your rear brake lights also staying on ? If so, it sounds like your brake pedal switch is either not working or is out of adjustment. If there is no adjustment on the switch itself then your brake pedal return spring is broken / missing and not pulling your brake pedal far enough to engage the switch and turn off your brake lights. A quick test of this is to pull up on your brake pedal while you have someone watching your brake lights. If they turn off when you pull up on the pedal then you need to fix the spring issue. If not, then you could try to disconnect the brake switch electrical connector and see if the lights go out -- I believe the switch is normally CLOSED ( when the switch is not being pressed, the contacts are closed and the lights are on ) so, with the switch wires unplugged, the lights sh...

Turn off abs light 1998 nissan frontier

Nissan Frontier ABS Light Will Not Turn OFF Nissan ABS Light Reset Procedure It can be a issue with wiring or a problem with ABS control module. But before you go troubleshooting further, just try the ABS reset Procedure. "" I have a 99' Frontier ,and my Air Bag Light blinks. It started after I hit a bump. Will this method work for me? "" Here's the process to reset the air bag light. I tried it and it works. If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Here is how to reset it: 1. Turn the key from off to on. 2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly. 3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .) 4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times. 5. Now turn the key on and w...

Check engine,ABS,air bag light 'ON' 1998 nissan frontier 4x4

1998 Nissan frontier 4x4 How do Iturn off my check engine,ABS,air bag light on 1998 nissan frontier 4x4? Well since the lights are controlled by the OBD (on board diagnostics), you'll have to reset it. You may be able to do this by simply disconnecting the battery for a few hours. However, a lot of newer vehicles have electronically locked radios which require the manual to be able to be re-enabled. I'd check out the radio before disconnecting the battery.  The only other ways are to physically disconnect the lights in the dash or get someone with an OBD reader to clear the codes. This will help. Thanks.
