Wheel Hub Assembly Replacement Safety Tip: Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes. 1 Park the vehicle on a solid level surface. Set the parking brake and chock the rear wheels. 2 Using a floor jack, raise the front of the vehicle. 3 Support the vehicle with jack stands on both sides for safety before starting any work. Do not rely on the jack to hold the vehicle up while working. 4 Rotate the tire and listen for any noise from the wheel bearing. Grab the wheel and tire assembly at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions and attempt to rock the tire. If you feel any play, the bearings are worn. 5 Remove the wheel and tire assembly from the hub. 6 Remove the brake caliper and mounting bracket from the steering knuckle.
