Brake Light Switch Replacement
Safety Tip:Always wear safety glasses when working on your vehicle. Wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, for example latex gloves or closed toe shoes.

Insert your key and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Turn your headlights on.

Step on your brake pedal and have an assistant check to see if the brake lights illuminate.

If all the brake lights are out, locate the brake light switch on the brake pedal linkage. Check for 12 volts into and out of the switch.

Disconnect the wiring harness from the brake pedal switch.

Disconnect the brake pedal switch from the brake pedal linkage.

Remove the old brake pedal switch and replace it with a new part.

Reconnect the wiring harness to the brake pedal switch.

Repeat steps 1-3 to confirm that the repair has solved your problem.
